2001 Sonata

Replaced the compressor with a good used last year.
It locked up, so just replaced with another tested good used.
When I pulled vacuum, it did not get close to pegging as it did last year, a coupl of lines above the 30.
Left work today, no cold air, got home, and added some 134 using gauges.
An hour later, no A/C.
Pressures read 0/0
Massive leak, obviously.
Question is, when the compressor is replaced, should the O-rings be replaced as well ?
I did not replace them last time or this time, and that is my suspision.
Close to correct, or completely wrong ?

All related o-rings must be replaced along with the service ports or schrader valves. Used compressors are a gamble.

I disconnected the high pressure hose, connected the vacuum pump, and could feel the suctuion, so I plugged the end, but never saw it go into a deep vacuum.
Did the same with the low pressure line, no vacuum .
Only hooked up the low, and then checked, then only the high, nothing on either one.
Possiblity I nicked or punctured both hoses when trying to get the bad compressor out, and the replacement in ?

That's such a fast leak you could probably find it/them with soapy water,
