Do I Need to Wrap the Expansion Valve?

Postby 510man » Fri Jul 22, 2016 5:55 pm

Are all expansion valves suppose to be wrapped with cork tap (dum-dum tape)? I ask because I have a valve that isn't wrapped. It's what I'll call an "all inclusive" design (see pic). That said, if it's suppose to be wrapped, is the entire unit wrapped, as In completely covered, or do parts of it need to remain exposed to the ambient air?

Thanks for any help.
