S-10 compressor

Postby carnutbill » Mon Apr 11, 2016 2:22 am

I have a 1996 Chevy S-10 pickup with a 4.3 engine that the compressor leaks out of a nut in the center of the rear cover. The nut has a screw in the center of it. Can the leak be repaired on the truck or do i need a new compressor? thanks bill

Bill,

HT6 and HU6 compressors, like the one in your truck, can be resealed. These compressors are the ones that leak the most. It is all a matter of finding someone to do it. Weigh that versus the price of a new or rebuilt replacement.
