Need help – Excursion A/C

Postby Tom Russell » Tue Jun 28, 2005 12:22 pm

System is a clutch recycling type
With A/C set to max cooling, air coming from dash outlets is 76 degrees
Ambient air is 90 degrees
Low side pressure cycles between 20-40 psi
High side pressure is 150 psi
There is a minor leak from the high side service port that I will repair when I figure out who borrowed my refrigerant recovery pump.
Ford service manual doesn’t cover adding refrigerant nor does it say anything about pressures.
Thank you.

You "appear" to be undercharged. At that ambinet, bring the high side up to around 200psi..Use only Virgin R134a and your cooling should return..Hope this helps.
